Transport Canada maintains a website containing information on vehicle recalls and defects.
For information on past recalls, you can search the Recalls On-Line Database.
Winter driving can result in sudden vehicle accelerations and stuck gas pedals due to interference between the gas pedal and vehicle floor mats. Usually this occurs when non-original equipment floor mats are used. The floor mat can move under the driver's feet and become lodged between, on top of, or under the pedals. Check your car - if your floor mats can move while driving, replace them with mats that do not interfere with the gas or brake pedal. See Transport Canada Vehicle Safety Advisory notice TP14665E for more information. For more information, contact Transport Canada at 1-800-333-0371.
