The Opportunity

The future growth and prosperity of Canada's Northwest Territories (NWT) depends on having in place safe, reliable transportation infrastructure to meet growing demands.

The Department of Transportation (DoT) is undertaking an ambitious program to develop new, and reconstruct old, roads, bridges, major culverts, and structures to meet the demands of the NWT's growing economy. DoT is responsible for one of the world's most challenging transportation systems, consisting of over 3,600 kilometres of all-weather highway and winter roads, five ferry and ice crossings, over 300 bridges and major structures, and 27 community airports.

Junior and Senior Engineers, as well as engineering technologists, technicians, and experienced construction superintendents, are being recruited to be part of a high performance team to help the department address current and future needs.

Those with the necessary skills, training, and experience are invited to consider the various job opportunities that are available. The department is hiring, for immediate employment, the following positions. More than 20 staff are needed to fill these positions in a variety of roles:
