It is illegal to drive while using a restricted electronic device in the Northwest Territories.  Using a restricted electronic device while driving will result in very stiff penalties, such as high monetary fines and demerit points.  Accident rates double when drivers take their eyes off the road for more than two seconds and distracted drivers are three times more likely to be in a crash than attentive drivers.  For a list of all restricted electronic devices, please refer to our Restricted Electronic Devices Regulations.
